Colli Euganei

The Euganean Hills are a group of volcanic hills rising southwest of Padua.

Recognized regional park in 1989, is a natural spectacle of fields, woods, stretches of vineyards and orchards and medieval villages.

In Euganean Hills there are many opportunities for fun and relaxation: from excursions by bike or on foot, visits to museums and towns in the area, the food and wine routes, to relaxation in spas.

Starting from Battaglia Terme you can visit the Cathay Castle, built at the behest of Pius Enea Obizzi in 1570.

At Valsanzibio worth visiting are Villa Barbarigo gardens with a beautiful boxwood maze, the numerous statues, varieties of trees, fountains.

Unmissable Arqua 'Petrarca. Small and delicate medieval village, here Francesco Petrarch spent the last years of his life. The museum house of Petrarch is open to the public all year round.

Este and Montagnana fortified cities, are famous for their extraordinary walls very well preserved.
